Photographer Marat Hasanov presents his first Cyprus solo photography exhibition titled “Duality”.
Through the photography exhibition “Duality”, a concept deeply examined and explained by various artists and philosophers, Hasanov explores the balance of black and white, evil and good, shadow and light, external chaos and internal peace as it engages with the viewer and encourages to reflect on the coexistence and interaction of opposites in our physical and mental worlds by challenging perceptions of subjective reality.

In the era of visual communication, Hasanov’s exhibition is an opportunity to reflect on the timeless concept of duality, reminding us of the complex interplay of opposites in our lives.
His photographs invite and challenge the viewer to consider how different stimuli trigger diverse imaginative patterns and interpretations by exploring the delicate balance that defines our own existence.

Medium.
The printing medium stands as an interesting aspect since the printed photographs are pressed into glossy aluminium sheets at high temperatures, making each photo and the medium one. This printing technique enhances the visual impact of the images and Marat’s minimalistic approach adds layers of simplicity and attention to detail and aligns with the thematic exploration of duality by merging the art and its medium into a single entity.
Hasavon, through his thought-provoking work, continues to explore complex themes and challenges the viewers to reconsider their perceptions and beliefs.

Marat has exhibited his photos in solo shows and received awards. In 2010, he displayed his “Around the World” collection at the Znamenka Art Gallery in Moscow. In 2018, his photos were featured in a solo exhibition at the opening of a Business Center in Moscow. Hasanov also organized a surfing and northern lights expedition to Murmansk for UK Men’s Health magazine, which was later featured on a magazine cover throughout Europe.
